Our Professional Staff – All of our preschool teachers either have a Bachelor’s degree, Associates degree, or are Montessori Trained. Toddler teachers often have a degree, but otherwise are chosen for their experience with young children and ability to be a nurturing teacher. Every staff must pass rigorous interviews, reference checks, observations in the classrooms, Kansas Bureau of Investigation background check, and a ninety-day period that allows ample time for training and supervision to assure that the staff meets our standards of excellence.

 

Staff Retention – We believe that staff should be professionals who are educated in this field and have chosen early childhood as a career path. Teachers who have worked in preschools for many years have shown a desire to teach and nurture children. When classrooms are designed to meet their needs and the curriculum is strongly in place, teachers are happy in their work environment. We are extremely proud of our teacher retention rates and we are confident you will be too as they far exceed both industry and general workforce retention rates! The average length of employment for lead teachers is five years and for assistants, three years. Administrative staff has guided this school since it opened in 1997 and has 60 years of cumulative industry work experience.

 

Health and Nutrition- Our children are encouraged to eat healthy foods. Our in-house chef prepares nutritious meals that children enjoy. Our large playgrounds encourage running, jumping, climbing, and healthy games. Our gymnasium affords space for a regimented physical education program that teaches aerobics, warm-up exercises and cool-down exercises, and games that keep children physically fit. Our younger children use the gymnasium for running, laughing, and playing during the bad weather times of the year. We believe in heart healthy children who learn that eating correctly is a life-long habit that will produce strong bodies!

 

Our Facility - Parents frequently ask, “How old is this facility”? They comment that it looks so clean and well maintained, that it must be new. When we tell them that this building was constructed over eight years ago, they are amazed. Maintenance is an on-going process here so that your children are in the best environment that we believe they deserve. We also have all tile flooring with area rugs for the children to minimize allergens and carpet concerns.

 

Our Playgrounds – We have the best playgrounds in the city! We far exceed the amount of playground space required by the state and we have invested in artificial turf to ensure the children stay clean. Our playgrounds surround the building, thus giving children comfort to feel like it’s their own backyard and quick access to it when it is recess time! We also offer a soccer field, bike paths, riding coil toys, and a 10-foot green dragon slide.
